Lovely photos of the fox! Foxes do tend to be wary of humans, but once a fox stole sandwiches out of my partner's rucksack which was sitting at our feet....

I really enjoy the photographs of the fox you have shared! I agree so much with you about how the more you look, the more you see.

I am no expert on foxes. I have a home overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Shelter Cove, California. It was a small fishing hamlet but now tries very hard to be a tourist spot. All foxes there are scavengers. I am guilty of feeding them a diet of inexpensive Costco chicken drumsticks. I have no willpower whatsoever against my sick behavior. There is certainly no pride in this confession only sadness for the foxes and perhaps especially for the life of the chickens. The result of my conflicted values has me staying in my urban Sacramento home for now. Thank you for the opportunity to share openly and possibly lessen the burden of only one of my very sick behaviors.

Thank you so much for sharing your story Lola! I Its definitely easy to do when we fall into the trap of thinking we’re helping them. My neighbours have been feeding our local fox that looked on the verge of being a bit ill - in such a case I believe contacting a local wildlife group may be the best form of action. But overall I guess we just have to keep in mind that nature is stronger than we think 😊💪🏼wild and wonderful
